How To Use Quixel Bridge In Unreal Engine 5

When Unreal Engine 5 launched it came with many new features one of them being Quixel Bridge. This tool allows you to import thousands of high quality models into your project with a couple of clicks. In this article I am going to explain what it is and how to use it.

What Is Quixel Bridge?

Quixel Bridge is a plugin that automatically comes installed with Unreal Engine. It allows you to access the Megascans library where you can browse thousands of assets for your project.

You can access it by selecting “window” in the Unreal Engine project browser and selecting the Quixel Bridge button.

This will open up the Quixel Bridge Window. From here you can browse the library of mega scans assets for your projects.

Sign into the website by clicking the circle icon in the top right corner. You can log in with your Epic Games Account.

From here you can look through the wide range of assets that you would like to add to your project.

You can do this by using the search bar of by filtering assets by using the tab on the left.

Downloading Assets From Quixel Bridge

Once you have found an assest you want to download, select it.

In the bottom right corner you should now see the model you have selected.

Before you download the model it will give you a couple of options about the quality of the model you want to download.

There will 4 options :

  • High

  • Medium

  • Low

  • Nanite

I recommend you select Nanite as this will give the model a lot of optimisation if you want to know more about Nanite checkout this blog post which get you fully informed about it.

Importing Megascan Assets In To Your Project

Once you have downloaded the model click the add button and it will add the asset to your project.

It should be in a folder called "Mega scans".
